New night lighting decree

By March 18th, 2016May 16th, 2022No Comments

Today comes into force the Decree 190/2015 of August 25, which develops the Law 6/2001 of environmental management of lighting for the protection of the night environment approved by the Generalitat de Catalunya. This, includes considerations with what concerns the LED, with which it is a pioneer in the environmental regulation of the use of this technology and the protection of the night environment.

The Decree adjusts the amount of light in public lighting with the aim of achieving significant energy savings as well as savings in atmospheric pollution and impact on climate change. On the other hand, it emphasizes the directionality of the light, with an impact on the reduction of light pollution.

From Salvi, aware of the importance of controlling the environmental impact of the same, we attended the presentation of Decree 190/2015 of August 25 in Barcelona. Coinciding with the entry into force of the same, new products have been developed that will allow lighting protected spaces minimizing the effects on the natural environment that can be caused by the use of unsuitable products or technologies, with special attention to the spectrum and directionality of the light emitted.
