Barcelona's Avinguda Diagonal has one of the most dynamic lights.
Illumination of the mythical avenue
Installation of the "Lan" LED luminaire designed by architects Marta Gabàs, Anna Ribas and Carles Casamor, for a modern, energy-efficient project on Avenida Diagonal in Barcelona.
Barcelona's Av. Diagonal is the main road artery in both directions of travel in Barcelona. Crossing the entire city centre, the renovated avenue aims to be a reflection of sustainability, efficiency and dynamism.
Salvi's challenge has been to provide an outdoor lighting solution with different functionalities and heights, seeking excellence in lighting, user comfort and a high reduction in energy consumption. The project includes a total of 136 Lan lanterns of 6.3 m high by 2 m wide that include a beacon light on the side of the post for the cycle lane and 94 Lan lanterns of 9.3 and 6.3 m high by 3 m wide equipped with UP Led optics of high efficiency, modular and replaceable in the long term with a watertightness of IP66 and adjustable powers ranging from 39 W, 60 W and 94 W.
The sectioned and tubular shape of this luminaire helps, together with the other successful interventions, to create a new and different space in this avenue, leaving it diaphanous and open. Something that seemed unthinkable considering the number of actors and elements (vehicles, vegetation, buildings, pedestrians, cyclists, kiosks...) that act on this now busy boulevard, thus offering a new and very different panorama of the Diagonal. In addition, at dusk, the colour of the white LED light creates a welcoming atmosphere and broadens the view, not only for drivers but also for pedestrians, façades and shops. Its white light generates a new night-time image of the city.
The lighting has a remote management system, which makes it possible to reduce levels during low occupancy hours.
Salvi invites you once again to enjoy this space and its comfortable and efficient lighting.
